RAID
We only use hardware RAID unlike some other providers that sell software RAID. Hardware RAID is performed from the hardware storage controller rather than the operating system. This offers better performance and reliability. RAID 1 offers significant improvements over traditional storage methods. Data is stored simultaneously on two separate, yet identically mirrored discs. In the event of one disc failing "hot swap" technology ensures both discs are up-to-date in an instant.

If you purchase the additional stoarge under the upgrade options section, we will use hardware RAID 5. RAID 5 allows for a single disk failure without any data loss or downtime. Your data is spanned across all disks within the RAID set.

As with the case of any defective hardware, we replace any faulty parts free of charge.
